The Planning Department is publishing the draft Island Planning Strategy (IPS) and accompanying documents for public consultation today.

The public consultation will run for a nine-week period from 9am Friday 30 July 2021 until 5pm Friday 1 October 2021 and all comments on the draft IPS are welcomed.

The documents can be found at www.iow.gov.uk/planthewight and this page is now live.  A copy of the draft IPS is attached, together with a shorter 4-page Summary document that includes some of the key points. Also included is a response form for anyone you know who may wish to respond but who does not have access to the internet.  I will be receiving a hard copy of all the above in the post during the first week in August and I will also put the documents on the Parish website.

The consultation portal is now also live and the questionnaires will be open from 9am for you to make comments.  Please note on the full draft polices map there is now a function for you to be able to search by wards in the drop down menu.

Planning policy officers will not be able to respond directly to any of the comments made on the Draft IPS during the consultation period, however if you have specific questions on the process or accessing any of the information, please send an email is to planning.updates@iow.gov.uk and a response will be sent as soon as possible.

In the meantime should you have another planning policy query that does not relate to the Draft IPS, please send to planning.policy@iow.gov.uk
