An event to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles was held on Sunday, May 7th.  The Parish Council, the Cricket Club, the Methodist Church and St George’s Church worked together to hold a picnic at Haseley Manor Barn from 12 noon onwards.  The weather was kind to us but there was plenty of room in the Barn if it had not been.  Food was provided, along with tea, coffee and squash and the members of the Parish Council would like to thank all those who made or provided sandwiches, scones, cakes, sausage rolls amongst other things.  Thanks also go to those who looked after the games and to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang for putting in an appearance.  All the proceeds of the day were donated to Arreton cricket Club and the IW Foodbank.

There was an opportunity for those who wanted to stretch their legs and/or those of their children or grandchildren before the picnic with a walk starting from the Cricket Club from 11am onwards and ending at Haseley in time for the picnic.  Coronation pin badges were awarded to all the children who finished the walk.
